Ingame Created objects problems
« on: 14 Mar 2004, 19:04:40 »
When I create an object ingame, a tank for example, it takes 25 seconds before I can control te tank.

Why is this? Can I counter it?

thats just the way it is with created vehicles ... don't think there is anyway to counteract it ...

I thought it was more like 5-10 seconds.

Seems to be some OFP (bug?) issue.

It seems that in sp when you speed up time you can access the object faster though, so it might be possible to get rid of it by editing some file perhaps.

okay, tnx anyway,
was just checking if it could be fixed,

i'll use the time as a "building"-time in the player's eyes

Create it somewhere else a bit earlier and then setpos it to where you want it.
Not all is lost.

Yah that's a good idea :)

then use:
titletext ["-=Vehicle under construction=-", "PLAIN DOWN"]
In the script somewhere to tell the player that his vehicle is being built :D

while it sits on the other edge of the map for a few seconds and then gets setpossed :)
