Custom AI face
« on: 09 Mar 2004, 21:00:05 »
Hopefully a simple one.

Im making some Nothern Ireland missions with UK troops/SA80s/landrovers etc.

ive got the civvies as enemies but i want them to be wearing a custom balaclava face. Any ideas how? (want it to be in multiplayer too).

thanks in advance

make sure the face is either JPG or PAA format.
then set the right size of the pic (ya can just overwrite an existing face).
right, and then add the face.jpg/paa to yer NAMEofMISSION folder and
simply use the setface command in the units INIT field:

 this setFace "FaceName.jpg"  :-*

nah Tomb'y,

other than suggested you and even by me in another thread
about this - that doesn't work with faces.

It works with setflagtexture and setobjecttexture, but it doesn't
work with damn  :-X faces.

In multiplayer it will even cause that each player will see his own
custom face on their AI's heads by using setface "custom"

The only way to give AI proper working faces is by using a
face addon, which off course would require everyone to have
this addon installed - otherwise: white ghost face for those who
haven't installed the addon.

There are some good face packs available here at OFPEC. I'm sure if you pick a good enough one the multiplayer guys won't mind adding it to their collection. The link is here,
