Addons not showing up
« on: 08 Mar 2004, 21:08:36 »
I downloaded a few air units (.rar file type?) and put in the OFP addon folder, and the (RES/addon for good luck) but they don't want to show up in the mission editor (I think I'm using 1.3).
Is there a file extractor needed for the .rar's?
Does everthing have to be turned into .PBO's?
Which direction does water swirl going down the drain at the exact equator?

Could someone make a small utility that would extract/install files to their appropriate place? Some .zips open showing two identical folders without text help, so what goes where?  What's the difference between .sqm, .rar, and .pbo?
I'm no programmer for sure, and a lot of people would give up and play mario bros.

And make another utility as well, which would create a error text file of needed files for when the game crashes to the desktop trying to run missions without complete addons. :)

Well first off: totally wrong forum section - hell even totally
wrong forum to post.

What if you look at the official forums for such issues?

Whom do you want to create utilities - the comunity?

This is a site, made by ofp mission editing fans, to share their
experiences with other ppl in the comunity.

Anyway - .rar or .zip off course have to be extracted before
installing their contents (in .pbo form) into your addons folder.

Those utilities you're talking about already exist and they're
called: winzip / winace / winrar

best you do a search on google for them and then try again

Dont argue with idiots....they will bring you down to their level and beat you there with experience.
