because you can't have missiles firing from a wheeled vehicle...

correct. This has been discussed a lot. I'm suprised you didn't know  ???

My suggestion to you is to make a static version. This way it can fire the stingers. There's no other way around it.

You could do it so that there's a version that can move, and has a custom action for 'Deploying', and when it does that, it's replaced with the static one that can fire missiles. That of course has the action to 'undeploy' so you can move around again.

Well, actually there is a way, if you aren't too picky and have a fast
PC ...

Well, If I'm not wrong IVA is part of BKM mod, that should release,
according to OP. Flashpoint CZ, an Avenger shortly. So I think that
they've resolved this problem.  I've given a script to Footmunch last
september which launch in some manner a missile from a car (well, there are more solutions, Footmunch and I  have found at least two),
and Footmunch produced a very basic Sa-9 Gaskin that is sitting
in my HD since last october.  I can't be more detailed for now not
because I want to keep it a secret, but because now is a Footmunch
project. I was keep away by work in the last few months, so I don't
know even if Footmunch had the time to develop it further.  If  this
raise some interest I could talk with him to see if I can give away
more details. He would have released it anyway in his usual way,
that is the model and the scripts  will not be binarized, so that
everyone could take a look and bring improvements.
Only don't expect  wonders and, as I said above, you
will probably need a fast PC.

Homefry:
Well, is it in a script??

It's in a script that is embedded  in the .pbo of the unit, so it's
completely transparent to the final user, as Arena script for
VIT's BMP3 or proximity fuse scripts are. I don't know how to
reverse engineer the code of OFP nor I'm willing to do that,
so the only way I had to overcome the problem was to write
a script. If you mean the missile itself, it could be launched
using a script (I used SEFE's one) or from the unit itself, but
this is a little more complicated (already done but with not
completely satisfying results). Using a script for launching
the missile will not activate IncomingMissile eventhandler,
the opposite it's true for launching it with the unit and let OFP
guidance code do the rest. But as you already have probably
guessed the difficult thing is to pass the target to the script.
As I said before if you are really interested I could talk to
Footmunch asking him if I could PM you a copy of the script.
I'm not playing the misterious, but I don't want to spoil
Footmunch's work.
