Scripting Question
« on: 14 Feb 2004, 21:52:57 »
Do you have to use a special program to make scripts?  Because I can't get any scripts to work that I make with Notepad.

When you are saving the script file in notepad, remeber to set "Save as type" to "All files" so there won't be .txt extension in the file. You'll get it.

No special program is required, Notepad works fine.

Ohh boy you should search a bit in ther websites first...

I think the easiest one to use is Chris's OFP Script Editor.

Not sure if I have a link... :P

It's really good cause it can help in making scripts and making mission stuff. Like briefings, overviews, ammocrates, units with certain weapon outfittings, music, sound, respawn, and .ext files. It helps by giving variables and names and important parts of your script colors so you can recognize things easier.

I would try a search engine or one of the many sites devoted to OFP. It's a must get.

All easily done with good old Notepad 8) . The Script Editor does make things easier for beginners, but using "Briefing Wizards" and such take away some stuff that can be done through manual editing.
