Alt-tab
« on: 09 Feb 2004, 17:46:59 »
I know this isn't really about editing, but it does involve the editor, so here goes-  :-[
I have a AMD 2GHz Athlon, 512 Mb RAM and Windows XP, but I can't minimize flashpoint when in the editor. Whenever I press Alt-tab the cursor changes back to the windows cursor but the editor window won't disappear. This makes it very difficult when trying to use a command reference - I usually have to exit flashpoint altogether to write scripts etc.
Any ideas about what the problem could be?

Thanks in advance

No idea m8. I've never had that problem. Have you tried just hitting the windows button? If that's no help try going to the BIS website for technical questions. It's not really what OFPEC is here for. However if you are lucky someone might have a heart and suggest summit.

Is your desktop resolution the same as flashpoints game resolution?

I checked the BIS forums - no one else has had this problem apparently, and also pressing the windows buton did not work.

Yes, my desktop resolution is the same as in the game.

Thanks for the suggestions  but it looks like I'll have to just get used to restarting a lot.

Kaptian_Karl,

OFPEC is strictly an editing site, and does not deal with technichal problems about the game. This thread will be locked, thank you for your cooperation. ;)

I've been living with this same problem for a while now....

I find that if I alt-tab once, all that happens is I get an additional Windows cursor within mission editor.
If I alt-tab once more, the screen will minimize and pop right back up.

I usually have IE open to the forums with I'm editing anyway, so if I alt-tab a 3rd time, it will switch over to IE and I'm fine.
I can then minimize IE and launch notepad or whatever else I need to do.

Yes, it's a pain in the 6, but I was without OFP for months and now that I have it working properly (somewhat) again, I don't care if I have to dance a jig and paint my face orange - as long as it works!!!!

Try that out and see if it helps....

 ;D
