crete DEM

But, before you do, how big is crete compared to the official islands such a Nogova?

Well thank you Homefry!!

IÂ'm the leader of the HALCON TEAM, Machuka is one of the team members.

The website is www.halcon.tk but now is only in spanish. The MOD is called "Operation Merkur" (in englsih) and it is based in the german invasion of the Crete Island in 1941.

We need some people who can help us in the project...so you can contact me via mail: hln_asterix@hotmail.com

If anyone can find a Crete DEM please donÂ't doubt to post it!

Thanks to all!  :)

You could try looking here:

http://edcftp.cr.usgs.gov/pub/data/srtm/Eurasia/

A very large list of zip files containing SRTM dems at 90 metre resolution.

The zip file names are composed of the map co-ordinates of the area covered, so you will need to know the relevant co-ordinates of Crete.

Example:

N21E069.hgt.zip

I think some of these dems are of questionable quality, but you may get lucky with the ones you are after.

I can recommend Microdem for this purpose.

If you don't have it here is the link:

http://www.usna.edu/Users/oceano/pguth/website/microdem.htm

It might be better to go to this link:for a more stable version though:

http://www.wood.army.mil/TVC/MicroDEMV6/microdem_ver_60.htm.

Be aware that it is a largish download.......approx. 28 Mb.
