Great game, great addons, no players
« on: 04 Mar 2004, 03:15:37 »
I've been a devoted OFP fan since it's American release in 2001.  I constantly check this site and others for new addons, such as the highly detailed BAS ones.  I'm not sure why I do this, as I only end up playing a mission by myself with the new addons.  I merely put down a bunch of enemy units and put the latest and greatest addons against them.  Wow.  Excitement.

I see lots of people on various OFP forums discussing the game, how great the addons are, etc etc.  But everytime I try to find a game online, usually via Gamespy, I can't find any games that are worth joining.  I never see any that use the new addons.

The new Digital Grenade USMC addon server didn't last that long due to lack of players.

If this game is so great, which it is, why are 2000 people playing BF1942, and there are 5 people playing OFP Resistance.  Why are all these addons coming out when finding a multiplayer game using them is virtually impossible?

Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place for multiplayer games?  Where do we go?  What is the solution to this?  All I know is that if I had the talent, I would never spend so much time creating add ons for a game that has a very very very SMALL multiplayer community.

Well,  it all depends.  There are a devoted few who do play, you just have to know where to look.  Find a active squad and join, there are plenty of ways to find a good game.

But unfortunetly, I do not think this is an editing related question, nor does it pertain to discussing addons, so I have a feeling this may be locked.
