"2"Follow "5"!

Hi!

   I would like to make one of my units join another team. Now I think that is possible with ingame commands, somehow. I recall doing wrong typing and I heard my unit say on the radio: "2" Follow "1" or some other number then all of a sudden is one of my team mate gone!

  Anyone knows how to do this? I tried all I could but can't manage to do it again!

Thats not what I mean.

   In the comref, there are those commands:

"CommandFire" and "CommandMove" and CommandeWatch" etc... Those are actually all via radio commands which can be used through the radio while playing. No scripts, nor waypoints nor triggers needed.

There is also this command: "CommandFollow" and this what I'm trying to find out: How to call this command through radio (no triggers). I am sure it's possible, I've done it more than once by mistake, which explains why I can't do it again!!

Anyone knows??

E.G.: To use "CommandWatch", press "F" keys (choose a group unit) then press and hold the left "Alt" button, and clic a direction You want the chosen unit to watch.

You mean something like that?

Create a group of 4 guys (make yourself leader)

Name the remaining 3 soldiers:

w1
w2
w3


Now create a trigger: radio alpha (activation repeatedly)

onActivation: "_x commandFollow w1" forEach [w2,w3]


Start the game and select the guy, you named w1
Tell him to move somewhere

Then call radio alpha, and you'll hear and see:

3 Follow 2
4 Follow 2

Do this as often as you want and have fun  ;D

   Though I know there is a way without any of this. I mean the game is already programmed to do this Without triggers or waypoints. I just can't figure out which keys I must press in order to achieve this!

P.S: this happens upon a bug IMHO

Imagine you are the squad leader, and you mount
a tank as driver.

Now you order number 2 to getin as gunner

Now if you tell the other guys of your group to return
to formation, you will yell: all follow 2 (or so).

:note - gunner of a tank is higher ranked than driver

yea, thats ONE annoying bug. Especially because it sometimes tend to
mess up what I wanna do with my addons (i.e. the bas_helo's)  
it can mean lots of unnessesary kills if I use AI pilots and I am grpLeader

I always wondered about soldiers in my group following someone else in the group who is supposdly lower rank! I would have thought such a bug would have been fixed with all the 20384 patches released so far!!   ;D
Anyway to overcome that bug? Aside from medication and beer?

but else you have to ungroup the moron & give him (pref. scripted) waypoints,
till everything is back on course
