no seagull
« on: 17 Jan 2004, 17:52:08 »
I just finished a multiplayer mission and I used a respawn=group so that people will only respawn untill their group is dead.  Is there a way to make it so that when all soldiers are dead the person doesn't come back as a seagull.  I mostly want this because I am trying to keep people from flying around after they are dead and helping the other living teammates locate enemy units and units I have placed in buildings.  Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I know, it isn't possible to disable seagulls if respawn fails or ends.

You have to edit the "scripts.pbo" in the "DTA" folder,

if you tell me EXACTLY how you want people to respawn, i'll do it for you!

Thanks for the reply and email back.  I was having a hard time getting my login to work at the website to let me post a reply to you.  Yes, I would be very interested.  Basically, I've created a mp mission where players can pick one of four people to be, each of which have 3 other soldiers in their group.  I created a description.ext file where I put in it respawn="Group" and this works great for having them only respawn up unitl the members in their group are all used up.  I still want this to happen I just want to eliminate how the when after all four of these are dead you become a seagull and can fly around looking at stuff like some sort of magical helper bird that can spot all of the snipers and etc.  that I have hidden.  It would be great if as soon as all of the members are dead then instead of turning them into a seagull it went staight to stats page or something.  I checked out the DTA file and found some seagull stuff in there but I wasn't sure which line to edit or how the code works.  BUt your help would be much appreciated.

Thanks................Aaron

Why dont you just use one of the many spectator scripts around?

Use ECP.......it has the spectator script incorporated.

I'm sorry for sounding a little ignorant but I don't have any clue what ECP means or is.  I don't know if this is something in the game or some sort of script that can be downloaded.  If so, then where can I go to download scripts like this.   Thanks...........Aaron
