i have done a search on sun but nothing that i can use came up..:(

For some reason, i do think that the way of the sun is
calculable  ;)

It's just the time of day, time of year, and the point of view, that needs to be considered to locate the actual position of the sun.

Now seriously; if you don't have a totally random based mission
setup, it shouldn't be that hard to point your camera onto the
sun - even if it's for a 10-min boring "look there's the sun" video

 ;D

I seem remember reading something a long time ago over on the official forums about calculating things like tides, phases of the moon and so on ... I'm sure the sun would be covered too.  

How random is the timing of this cutscene?
