HoverCraft
« on: 24 Jan 2004, 17:47:58 »
Alright I'm sure someone is going to say this is made already, but how about a hovercraft? :o I have seen our fire department's one on the ice rescue some guy then came back and hovered :o  down the road to the ambulance and then back to the trailer it came in on....
So I was thinking of something with a machine gun or small cannon/artillery gun  40mm or less of course. Even a grenade launcher.

Just another idea..... :P

Someone made a Russian Zubr a while back.  I can't find a link anywhere though.

Comes with a demo mission, I think.

I have a mission that features the Zubr as sea support, I don't know if I'll release it...

Well here's a question - is it possible to change the top speed of an APC in the water?  You know, BMPs and M113s just creep along in the ocean...but if you could somehow make that speed faster, you could use the APC class for a hovercraft...how about that?

Actually I think the command is "canfloat", but it should be an APC all the same.

Hmmm a Bmp or M113 skimming across the water at 80, it would look weird since the tracks were showing, but its a start.

Does that canfloat stuff work in init lines? :D

i.e. floating abrams, people ;D

The tracks don't show when either of those two are in the water.

And no, it's a .cpp thing.
