netta1234, I don't want to discourage you but, I've seen your questions on the forums. I think it's better for you to take your time learning the editor before going straight to island makings, since it is much hard and tough work.

If you want to do it anyway, you will either need Visitor or WRPedit(both can be grabbed at the ed depot under tools), and a few other tools would be usefull to, like Wibur and Terragen(there's probably a link if you find a tutorial).

The best way to get textures is to make em yourself. Load up Photoshop or Paintshop Pro(sorry, I'm afraid MS Paint just won't do here ::) )and make your grass/desert/rock/beach/desert/space/metal/bag o' shoes textures in format 512x512.
I first learned making my first good textures from Worldcraft(Half Life)tutes, I suggest you search on google for just such a tute.

Ah, you posted faster than I replied. :P

Buldozer's BIS offical "viewing" tool which is also used in oxygen, or o2, you need to download it from an official site, can't remember where, I'll be back with link.

Now you posted faster than I replied again! :o

You can download Gummi's textures at the addons depot which is down at the moment, but I suggest you make your own.

And as I said, making islands is hard work, and it takes MONTHS to make a good island.

EDIT: Stop posting so fast! ;D

Get WrpTool instead of Visitor. It's easy, and you don't have to fool around with Bulldozer. Get both 0.906 and the 0.950 upgrade from here.

That depends on how much time you want to spend on the island daily. I'd say that it takes at least half a year of solid work to make a good island.

Also, you need to be a reasonable config writer to make your island work.

Island making isn't very difficult once you know what you're doing. It's making new objects for islands that's hard.
