Lag is the time it takes a signal from your computer to reach the multiplayer server and back again.  Addons do not cause lag.

They may however cause video drag.  They are two different things and are forever mixed up.  Bad.

Clarification: What does the -nomap switch do? I remember reading about it in the editing depot a long time ago, but the author said he didn't notice any difference in gameplay. I assume it has something to do with the memory map system used in OFP's addon loading system (the reason for the memory map error).

It basically stores addons into memory in a different manner than it did before,I dont really know what is different exactly, but i guess it stores it in the swap file of the hard drive.
Rreason i think this is because it is able to store more data than my total ram can hold, much more, so where else can it go

If this is the case, clear your C Drives of all the surplus rubbish that is stored on it and make a larger swap file size

Thanks Terox, this explains a lot.  :D

I tried running OFP with the -nomap switch yesterday, and it ran slower that running with conventional memory mapping. This is probably because I have about 200MB remaining on C: and 512MB of DDR RAM...

I've been meaning to clear out my HDD anyway  ::)
