A Rather Basic Concern
« on: 12 Jan 2004, 09:14:39 »
I recently acquired the GOTY edition for OFP, and almost immediately began tinkering with the built-in mission editor.  I was somewhat dismayed to learn, however, that airbourne craft could not initialize in the air.  From previous experience with regular non-r OFP Gold Edition, I know this is (or in worst case "was") possible...does this current inability stem from the resistance upgrade, or merely the GOTY edition?  Regardless, how can I go about achieving the same results?  Many of my missions revolved around beginning in the air (such as parachuting into an enemy base at night).  Any information that can be provided will be immensely appreciated.

Thanks,
Gwydion

I don't have GOTY but I can't believe that you can't start an aircraft in the air.     In the unit creation screen there is a field on the right hand side, nearish the top, called special.     One of the options in the drop down menu is "flying".   Select this to make your aircraft or parachute starts in the air.

When you look at the main map screen in the Mission Editor make sure it says "Advanced" in yellow at the top right hand corner.   If it says Easy click on it to toggle.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play
