It depends, if you want to give a unit a name, such as a name that would be used in a script, then u just enter it in the name field in the insert unit box.  And, not to be insulting, but just make sure the editor is in Advanced Mode.  An example of a unit name would be a letter and then a number. The way i usually name the men in my squad is a1 then a2, etc...

By renaming, do you mean like you have given the unit a name in the name field but wan't to change it later to something elese?

Can't think of any situation you would need that...  ??? But maybe that's just me...

However, renaming can be done (if you mean it the way I presumed), it's just a global variable (ain't it?...)...

No guarantees that it works though...  :P

You could try nameofsoldier=newnameofsoldier but I don't know if it works though. Also, why would you want to rename a unit anyway?

This has to be done in description.ext file (go for the
description.ext tutorial in the ed-depot).
