No, don't make sure the trigger is set to switch.
Trigger type switch is used for:
Let a unit/group do, what it's told to do after the
syncronisation line (no matter wether it hasn't gone that
far, or has already passed that point)
In general:
Make a waypoint, syncronize it to a trigger, and make
another waypoint, where the unit/group should go, after
the trigger condition has been met.
