I thought that setting a unit to "captive" mode was to prevent the enemy from firing at him. I guess you could force an AI to shoot the unit with the fire/dofire command.

What are you trying to do?
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

btw - maybe you might need a doTarget in
combination with the fire/doFire command to let
the loon do his job.

@macca

maybe he's trying to let a specific unit kill a captive
without making others start firing onto the same
captive :o  ;)  ;D

Well, in other words can a unit be fired at and have any shots not hit him?

hmm - correct me if i'm wrong now, but i think
Captain Winters means, how to miss the guy instead
of killing the captive  :o

If so, go to the scripting beta testing section and watch
out for Zayfoods spray script.

Or better wait, here's the link:

http://www.ofpec.com/yabbse/index.php?board=27;action=display;threadid=7298

Then you only need to increase the spray value, so that
the unit who's running the script will fire more inacurate.

Also you should disable the check wether it's firing in single/burst/auto-fire mode, otherwise a single shot would
become accurate again.

OK, and how to make the unit start firing was already mentioned above.

There's an invisible target addon available at www.mapfact.net

You could setpos an invisible man target 5m behind the captive. It would surely look like everybody is missing because the captive runs so fast *gg*  ;D
