Support waypoint == ???
« on: 24 Nov 2003, 21:19:52 »
Ok here's a small dilemma for you editing gurus. ;)

What's the support waypoints secret? I've heard that I cant use a command for it, so if I can't do that, can I at least get the commands it passes to the unit somehow? I need this for my mission and if I find out how this works it would be great. It would also open some new possibilities for scripts. ;)
I once saw a thread which had some possibilities on how to find out how the waypoints actually work and what commands they give to the units but I didn't give too much attention to it then and now I need it. :P Tried to find it but didn't have any luck. :-\

I do believe this allows the commander of a group to call for back-up by using the "Status (5)" part of the radio menu, then the first part that comes up.

So, for example, if you put a repair truck on a support waypoint, put yourself as the commander of a group and pressed 5-1-x (not sure what the repair call is) then they'd request the repair truck and it'd drive to you.

Don't quote me on any of this, all stuff I remember from > a year ago ::) ;)

Yep I know what it does but: ;D

In my mission I have a few medics in the base. I'm making a script that will make the medics go to the units and heal them if they're injured. The medícs can't heal them to full health and when the units gain enough dammage, they will move to the MASH tents to wait for medevac's which will come onces there's enough wounded men. Now I don't wan't to use the support waypoint for this since it would work...well...badly. ;D So I need to know what the support waypoint orders and does to detect to see what units are injured and need healing. ;)

I hope you understood that. :P It's hard to explain my thoughts. xP
