Hand guns & addons

hey guys, i have resistance and i have desert addons along with a large amount of other addons and when i go to use a handgun with a addon it only shows the players & the ai's hands cupped together like they are holding a gun. you can fire it but you cant see it, i was wondering if anyone can help me out is it a graphics card problem or what?

Somewhere I read how to change it and make handguns work and I believe it was in the config files. Anyone know, so we can get this question answered?

The authors of the addon must change the P3d to a resistance P3D then it shows the Pistol.

As Metal stated, the problem with that addon, is that the guy that made it, forgot to change the older .p3d files with the new Resistance .p3d files, which means that you have a handgun, but the .p3d doesn't recognise the it since it as no handgun proxy, the only option avalable is to replace te .p3d files with Res ones and than swap the textures
