not the basic black op I mean like any kind of soldier buy setting a command
or some thing. it's my guess there is a command for this

Create the unit you want to be parachuting.    Create an empty parachute at the point where you want it, and name it.    In the init line of the unit write:-

this moveInDriver chute1

I haven't done it for a while so I don't guarantee that's exactly right, but give it a try and play around a bit if it doesn't quite work.

Make sure you set it so that the empty chute is set to Flying  ;)

And make the chutes start several meters south of the positon you want them to touch down at.
They usually drift northward and slightly to the right.

Interesting huh?

They might drift with the wind, which does exist in OFP.   It's direction is random, you can't control it AFAIK.    Strength is controlled by general weather - the worse it is the stronger the wind.

Are you sure the wind direction is random?
Maybe the wind velocity, but I almost always drift to the NW...
And on different islands, too... ???

Maybe I'm just lucky... ;D

I'm pretty sure ... it shows up best with flags.      However it doesn't affect bullets and it may not affect paratroops - they could be hardwired to drift as you have observed.

No, with flags, they are set to flap at a certain angle from the flagpole. I can rotate the flagpole and the flag shift's with it...

Hmm....

(Of course there is that 1% chance that I am wrong...)

I'm afraid we collect on the 1%.  ;D

I just tried it with two flagpoles:  the flags flap in the same direction even if one of the poles is rotated.
