Altered version of TexView
« on: 08 Nov 2003, 11:46:52 »
I made some alterations to the program. If this turns into a morale or legal issue I will not post the file. I have too much love for this forum to be kicked out.  ;D
Let me know if you guys are interested, ok?

Excerpt from the readme:

New features:

The "OPEN" dialog used to look like this:

"ALL TEXTURES" ---> .tga,.jpg,.gif,.pac.,paa
"SOURCE FILES" ---> .tga,.jpg.,gif
"DESTINATION" ---> .pac,.paa
"ALL FILES" ---> (same as ALL TEXTURES)

(I felt it was kinda annoying to always change the window to sort all files by type just to find this one TGA-image etc.)

The "OPEN" dialog now looks like this:

"OFP TEXTURES" ---> .pac.,paa
"ALL SUPPORTED" ---> .tga,.jpg.,gif (same as SOURCE FILES, really not sure if this is needed)
"JPG" ---> jpegs only
"TGA" ---> tgas only
"GIF" ---> gifs only

________________________________________

The "SAVE" dialog used to look like this:

"TEXTURES" ---> Saves to .PAA or .PAC
"ALL FILES" ---> Shows every possible extension theres is. Making it look like you can save to .JPG and so on.

(To save to TGA-format, you had to manually erase the .paa or .pac extension and type ".TGA")

The "SAVE" dialog now looks like this:

"TEXTURES" ---> Saves to .PAA or .PAC
"TGA" ---> Saves to .TGA

(To save to TGA-format, you still have to manually erase the .paa or .pac extension but no typing of .TGA is required.)

These changes may seem a little petty but believe me; when working for hours with TexView, the dialog
REALLY gets to your head if you know what I mean. A smooth workflow is not a bad thing...

Sounds pretty cool to me!

Didn't BIS make texview?  Does anybody know what it says in the readme about this kind of thing?

@ Blackblood

I'd suggest emailing BIS and asking.  They've responded to my bug reports before, they always want to support the OFP community and they're cool.   8)   ;)

No actually, I meant the excerpt from my readme, included in the altered version just to explain the differences between versions.

Beginning to lean towards Asmodeus suggestion - Simply talk to the BIS guys.
