Any progress on the island?

About the sides of the map, ofp engine doesnÂ't support inland?

Your right the OFP Engine doesn't support inland.

This means near virtical cliffs on 3 sides of my map, but this still leaves a large area for combat (and if they sort out having bigger islands I can extend)

I am still around, but I have had to slow work on the terrain to get other work complete on the other project.

I am working on a few new buildings including one that is over 600ft in length and 150ft height.

Pictures maybe next week, if I get the time, the real world is interfering a bit.

And yes the Control Tower will be enterable, likely go though door, find ladder, climb to inside tower, mainly as I am not going to do the spiral staircase, its poly intensive.

I might stick a few other rooms in.

I was wondering if anyone is / intends to make specialist vehicles for the airbase. I'm talking about things like the fire tenders or TMVs that are in use on operational stations.

Yeah, these would be great vehicles to have, they would be mainly for eyecandy but what the hell, i'd sure as hell use them in my missions

btw, i would make them, but i've got enough on my plate with Hoffman's Luck, and BAS ;)

I am sorry to say that I am not doing vehicles of my own, but will hopefully be re-skinning existing ones.

I am working on re-skinning Kegs Hawk and if it works out will be contacting him for permission release it, but I am having some trouble with it, mainly as the textures I am using are a bit plain, but are correct for the Training Squadron at the base.

I know for certain that I will need Bedfords Mk's and Landrovers for the various bases on this map, having Army, Air Force and Royal Marine bases.

I also hope to do some troops also, but again its a long term project now.

Minor problem

Priorities
1. Real Life
2. Falklands
3. North Devon

Between 1 and 2 I have had little time to work on number 3 recently, in fact number 1 has had most the last two weeks, big changes in process.

BUT...
I have done a little work on this terrain due to spending last Thursday playing on it for about 12 hours on a local LAN, spotted a few problems, tried out some new ideas.....

I might and I mean might have some pics up in next couple of days of a little item I had some problems with which are now solved..

I have also corrected some big faults I had in some of the buildings but I still haven't worked out pathway lods so AI still walk through my hanger walls when you cant...

I hope to start work after a 3 year break shortly so I will
lose even more time but will hopefully be able to manage it better, its also why time is short for me at the moment getting everything sorted.

I do not want to rush this as as rushed job often means a bad job, also unlike most others this is a real location and I cant just place stuff where I want to (and I wish I could), I am actaully going by maps.

I do check this forum often and am watching with interest the developments, as mentioned before it looks like I may have to expand the team....

ANYONE WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS THIS AREA AND YOUR INTERESTED GET IN CONTACT WITH ME

 :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

Some bad news...

I was looking at the smaller Army Camp south of the river (Fremington) and couldnt work out why the buildings looked lost in it..

I decided to check the dimensions again and oppps..

The northern side of the camp is in the correct postion, but the southern side along with the whole village is 100 metres too far south....

You may think this petty but the camp is 50% bigger than it should be (300m across instead of 200m) and the road network wont meet..

As I am trying to reproduce an actaul area I am going to have to correct this which means moving well over 500 objects just 100m.

Unfortunately this will delay my picture taking as will take several hours.

THE GOOD NEWS

The afore mentioned camp has over 20 NEW buildings in it already so I really do look forward to taking the piccys

New Piccy - Fremington Camp
Heres a pic of some of what I have been working on, back to the Fremington area.

Much has already changed from this picture as a few new obstacles built, and deletation of the trees.

This whole area as mentioned is being completely rebuilt due to an error which I cant believe I actaully made.

Anyway heres the pic

Oh yes you can go over the walls and the up (and down) the climbing net..

Careful use of ladders if your wondering, and its all been checked.
