In a multiplayer mission, what is the best way to re-create or respawn AI soldiers, AI vehicles, empty vehicles, and live players with their original waypoints to keep a battle going?
Picture a mission where the live players along with lots of AI are defending a position such as a key town, airport, or "Nogova Bridge". An enemy force, made up of live players and AI, attacks in close waves or is constantly re-enforced by respawning/re-creating players and AI with the same waypoints/weapons/vehilcles they had when they are killed. Both sides should respawn live players and respawn or re-create AI to keep the battle raging until the ending time limit or trigger.
I have tried the respawn scripts for live players and the AI Vehicle respawn scripts I found on OFPEC, by such good people as toadlife and doolittle. They work fine; but, they have limitations. The soldier respawn scripts seem to only work with playable units. The AI vehicle respawn script works on AI soldiers as well as the AI vehicles, but they disappear into thin air when they are killed and that doesn't look very realistic. I don't want dead soldiers stacking up like cord wood but the bodies should fall and remain for a short while for realism.
I am trying to make a long running battle for some combat ready trigger happy friends.
