some questions
« on: 10 Sep 2002, 23:12:29 »
hey there

this might be very easy but i didn't get it to work right..

i want to make the alarm go off if a west soldier sees a east soldier??? is it possible with only a trigger?

and further if i make a row of triggers eg number 1, 2 and 3, if a civie is detected (by some infra red stuff) a squad has to go to the trigger, in which the civie is detected?? how can i make ai do that? i thought make 3 waypoints and let them skip the ones they don't have to go to? but i'm open for other suggestions

thx in advance

make a trigger covering the area and set it to west detected by east, I'm not sure what you mean by the second bit but place a guard waypoint for the russian squad and they will hunt the enemy down when they are spotted, you can use guarded by east triggers to make them pay attention to certain areas.

A guard WP is probably the best way to go.   However, if you want more control over exactly what the squad does, use triggers type switch synchronised with waypoints.

Your riot squad has 6 waypoints
1) move
2) move
3) cycle (placed close to wp 1)
4) hold   placed in area of trigger 1
5) hold       "         "            "     2
6) hold       "         "            "     3

trigger 1 is syncro'd with wp 3
    "     2         "                 4
    "     3         "                 5

The riot squad will patrol between 1) and 2) till one of the triggers is set off.    As long as the triggers are type switch then the riot squad will go to the area of the trigger that has been fired.    You will need to experiment a little with this idea to make it work properly for your specific case, but I hope you get my drift.

Of course the guard waypoints thing solves your problem use it, its much simpler.
