but really, what exactly are these, somethin to do with textures i believe but i dont knwo anything about em. i'm makin some custom textures, so will i need to do anything with these mipmaps for the textures? i'm dumb

mipmapping is a technique graphic boards use to smooth the visual appearence, i don't think you have to do something with that
