Oh... Mist... :P

Oh, and that can be done with the drop command, just play around with it a while and you'll soon be able to create what you want. :-*

Heh, I have a nice mist script that I just made, but there's a catch. It's going to be released in 6-8 months when the Nightstalker MOD is released, but if you became a member of the team, then you could get your paws on it quickly ;) .

There's a mist-script in the BAS_Tonal-pack, maybe you can unpbo it, and search for the script.
Search or search or search before you ask.

And of course the word "mist" causes great hilarity among Germans...

I'm going to leave that to one of the Germans on the board.... ;)

Suffice to say that it translates as a word with the same number of letters, including I, S and T, which Chris Tucker uses a lot in Rush Hour.

This is Operation Flashpoint, not Operation Funny Movie. You mind keeping this forum about using the drop command to create fog >:( .

Sorry, got distracted.

But surely it's about creating fog in any way possible? Not just using drop, I presume?

No, I was just wondering if there was any other way. Hey, I'm a beginner at this, I've only just heard of the drop command. I really don't think there's any call for that tone.

Hehehe, sorry about that. I was just wondering if you were using objects to make fog (It's been done with nukes before).

So far I've just used the fog slider on the weather screen, and the rather lovely CAT weather effects. The fire effects are a bit dodgy, but the storm effects are marvellous (if a bit sparse)

Are there any good blizzard effects? I found a snow script, and I found the CAT snowstorm, but I'm trying to find a real whopper of a blizzard...

Can't be hard to do that, just modify that snow script you have a bit.

Get the Tonal Island addon by BAS.  It has an excellent mist maker/fog drop script in it.

Need fog? You've got fog!
Here's v 0.96 of my fog script for Nightstalker. It's very picky and takes a lot of variables, but it allows you to create very specialized fog effects. You can turn it off when it's running by setting variable fogoff to 1.

Format: [object,amount,size,life,startalt,velocity,zvelocity,mercytimer] exec "drg_fog.sqs"

Object - Object that fog particles originate from.
Amount - # of fog particles produced per cycle.
Size - Size of each particles.
Life - How long each particle lasts before it's deleted.
Startalt - The height at which each particle starts.
Velocity - The xy velocity of each particle.
ZVelocity - The upward velocity of each particle.
Mercytimer - Time between creation cycles.

Example 1: [fog_mkr1,40,1,30,-1.5,1,0.15,2] exec "drg_fog.sqs"
Note: This creates fog that radiates up from the ground.

Example 2: [fog_mkr1,40,1,20,0.5,1,0,3] exec "drg_fog.sqs"
Note: This creates fog that glides along the ground.

Keep in mind that this is an older version of the fog script. Please comment if you can't get the script to work, it may have bugs in it.

I'm afraid you're wrong.  ;) Myst was a great game, for its time anyway. I'll never forget locking that guy up in the basement of the library.... :)
