No where else to post this...help with performance
« on: 19 Sep 2003, 05:04:19 »
Couldnt find a place to put this, but I could use the help. What can I do to increase the visual quality of ofp. I still have a bit of jagged edges in the game. Here are my specs, and what my ofp video settings are at.

System
AMD Athlon 1.9mhz (1598mhz actual)
512mb ram DDR
71 gig hd that ofp is installed on with 13.8 free, WD 7200 rpm
OS windows XP
Sound Blaster audigy
Video Card Nvidia geforce4 Ti 4200 64meg

OFP video settings
Resolution 1024x768x32
Refresh Rate 75hz
Hardware T & L enabled
Multitexturing enabled
W Buffer enabled
object shadows disabled
vehicle shadows enabled
cloudlets enabled
blood enabled
brightness 1.2
gamma correction 1.6
frame rate 10.20
visual quality 6.18
visibility 920
terrain detail normal

OFP Preferences Tab info
CPU Benchmark result 4155
Display device Direct 3d HW T & L

Advance Preferences
Performance
Total Memory 512
Texture Heap 16
File Heap 16
Geometry performance 4083

Effects
Max Lights 32
Additional lights all checked

Textures
cockpits 2048x2048
objects 2048x2048
landscape 2048x2048
special effects 64x64
auto drop down 4x

Details
max objects 256
objects lod 0.019
shadows lod 0.050

What if anything can I change to increase the visual quality of OFP? I feel my system should be able to handle OFP just fine. Sorry to be such a newb about this stuff, but this is an area of OFP I never ventured into  :). Is there information somewhere that would explain all of these options? Or could someone give me the run down on them? Thanks in advance for the help....

Hi mr.sert,

Unfortunately we're an editing site only, so technical questions of this nature aren't permitted.
For this sort of question, try the Official Forums, where they have specific sections relating to performance and tweaking.

Alternately, if anyone wants to IM/Email mr.sert witrh an answer, we would encourage them to do so.
