Replacing objects in visitor?
« on: 10 Sep 2003, 13:48:59 »
I'm making a winter and jungle version of my own island (have permission to use the objects). I'm simply making the island using WRPedit, but some custom object seem to work only in visitor. Was just thinking about replacing the old standard objects with the custom ones. What would be the fastest way to do it in visitor? Keep in mind that I'm a total n00b when it comes to visitor.

I don't think you can import ANY objects into visitor that have been placed with WRPedit, I don't think it's easy importing the terrain even :-\ . Visitor is easy enough to get the hang of IMO, the road tool alone makes it loads quicker!! Basicly you'll have to place everything again from scratch, I think!...

You have to create a substitute drive to use multible PBO's in visitor(O.pbo, Eden.pbo and customPBO's), maybe it's the same in WRPE?. There are a few threads at BIS's site that'll be worth you reading http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?s=ac68e42f59da645da2ada0839d454544;act=ST;f=39;t=32513 and http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?s=ac68e42f59da645da2ada0839d454544;act=ST;f=39;t=31349 and http://www.flashpoint1985.com/cgi-bin/ikonboard311/ikonboard.cgi?s=ac68e42f59da645da2ada0839d454544;act=ST;f=39;t=31376 for starters! :D ...

Luck dude! :) ...

Thanks a lot.

No curse is strong enough to express what I think about Visitor. Perhaps in the right hands..

There is a command that u can put in the config.cpp that will replace a specified object type with another specified object type.

IE: Akat02 with Akat03

replace="O\Tree\les_nw_jehl_ctver_pruhozi.p3d";
      with[]={"O\Tree\les_nw_jehl_T1.p3d","O\Tree\les_nw_jehl_T2.p3d"};
      center="true";

Something similar to that
