No entry in config? Tutorial Mission
« on: 02 Sep 2003, 17:55:25 »
I downloaded macguba's Tutorial Mission and when I run it, I get a weard message:

No Entry/config.bin/cfgweapons/M16GrenadeLauncher.DisplayNameMagazine

I opened up the config.bin file, but it seems to be empty.

Does anyone know what this is?  I removed the references to the M16GrenadeLauncher in the description file and it went away.

I am running OFP GOTY.  I have not put the 91 patch on yet.

Thanks

~Gary

try a reinstall,
either your config is corrupted or the addons list in the mission.sqm is missing something,
I have highlighted in red the possible mission.sqm addons that may be missing

class Mission
{
   addOns[]=
   {
      "Trabant",
      "Hunter",
      "HMMWV",
      "MM1",
      "6g30",
      "OH58",
      "BMP2",
      "BRDM",
      "bis_resistance",
      "bis_weaponpack",

      "Bradley",
      "AH64",
      "Vulcan"
   };
   addOnsAuto[]=
   {
      "bis_resistance",
      "Bradley",
      "BMP2",
      "BRDM",
      "HMMWV",
      "OH58"

hmm - M16GrenadeLauncher came with OFP version 1.00,

so there's no way that you're MISSING an addon.

What i asume is more that you may have an addon too much.

If an addon maker doesn't take too much care about his
work, then it sometimes happens that addons will screw
up original BIS weapons/soldiers/etc.

If you remove all your unofficial addons, you should be able
to find the bugger by adding one by one back.

A good way to shorten up this is to use -mod folders.

This way you can try starting ofp with using only the addons,
you need.

This is a virgin install.  I never added anything to it.  Not even the official patch.

Any other ideas? ???

A friend of mine had the same problem, either something went a bit wrong in the install process(is it only me that have noticed that newer games get more bugs and crc errors when trying to install them)
Just reinstall the game and it should work out. :)

I don't get that error on any of the official missions.  I wonder why? ???

I'll try it on my other PC running the game.  We had to buy 2 copies to play multiplayer. ;D
