steDammage question

I want to have some vehicles laying around all blown up-- just for some atmosphere when the player walks thru the area.
So I do  this setDammage 1 in the vehicle's init and they blow up just fine, and I get the effect I want, but...
When they blow I get alot of smoke and debri--lag causing stuff.
So my question is there a way to have the vehicles start the mission already blown up without the animation of blowing up?

Try to remove all fuel and ammo from the vehicles. Then there wont be an explotion at least..  ::)

if a single vehicle blowing up gives you lag then you have more serious problems .. lol  ;D

but as Knut Erik  said.. just move the ammo, fuel, and health sliders all the way to the left and it should just be destroyed without the smoke and such

Use the wreak objects in the editor,  there is one for a jeep, one for a M113, and one for a truck. If you wanted to make the wreak smoking you could always place a lit campfire underneath it then.  :)

There are also some downloadable wrecked unit addons available from different places...
I think Ballistic did a wrecked version of one of their choppers :)
