Cutscene With Binoculars
« on: 20 Aug 2003, 14:39:17 »
I repeat cutscene with binoculars!
How can i make it work?

Here is the script ill get the binos for a sec or less
and the guy puts them down instantly!
How can i force him to not put them down
instantly?

player switchmove "StandToBinocStand"
~3.6
_cam = "binocular" camcreate [0,0,0]
_cam cameraeffect ["internal", "back"]

cutrsc ["binocular","PLAIN DOWN",0]
_cam camsettarget off1
_cam CamSetFOV 0.05
_cam camCommit 5
~6
cutrsc ["default","PLAIN DOWN",0]

_cam camsettarget off2
_cam CamSetFOV 0.7
_cam camCommit 0
_cam cameraeffect ["terminate", "back"]
camdestroy _cam
exit

And i know that the default line takes the binoview off!
Thankful for all replys!

Hi MeKillYou,

try these,

I take it u have given teh player Binos or he allredy has them becoz i do not see any "unitname addWeapon "Binocular"" ;D

try this start of the script and edit it into urs and see if it works ;D

unitname playMove "StandToBinocStand"
~3.6
cutrsc ["binocular","PLAIN DOWN",0]

and then the rest of ur script follows on with

_cam = "binocular" camcreate [0,0,0]

try that and let me know !

This is the new script does not work either! ;D

player playMove "StandToBinocStand"
~3.6
cutrsc ["binocular","PLAIN DOWN",0]

_cam = "binocular" camcreate [0,0,0]
_cam cameraeffect ["internal", "back"]

_cam camsettarget off1
_cam CamSetFOV 0.5
_cam camCommit 0

~3

_cam camsettarget off2
_cam CamSetFOV 0.7
_cam camCommit 3

~3

cutrsc ["default","PLAIN DOWN",0]

_cam cameraeffect ["terminate", "back"]
camdestroy _cam

exit

The officer is player does that affect?
And cutscene is in start of mission!
And targets are moving soldiers!

Thankful for replys

If u are in a cutscene being the player does not effect it i dont think becoz u cannot control it/him/her or "that thing" ;D

Hmm not workign u say  ???

Where u say

Quote
And targets are moving soldiers!

I think the only SLIGHT BUG or ERROR shall we say that might occur is thta if u are targetting the soldiers that are moving for a long time - the camera might not keep the soldier in view for the length of time required - somethign to do witha loop i think  :)

Have u got SnYpirs Camera Tutorial ??? this is where i had the info from so try that - if u cant i shall try again ;D

Tried Snypirs binocular script same effect! ;D
That will say that the soldier puts down binos after a sec! 8)

Is it even possible to have the binoculars in hand
when you use the binocular script view?
Starting to wonder! ???

Is there a force the soldier to hang to his binos script?
I could need that! ;)

AI seem to take there binocs out when in combat automaticly...Try putting an unknown object really far away from him... he might just pull out his binoculars...

Try

player selectweapon "binocular"

in a loop... maybe...

Make sure  he got a binoc in his inventory...

Search or search or search before you ask.

Well well well
Snypirs cam script with binos works fine now!
I' ll just copy it to my own mission now!
Then i should be ok!

Thanks for all replys
and i'm sure i'll be back soon
crying for some help (hehe) 8) 8)

Don't know why snypirs bino script did not work or
if it was me!
 :P :P

But the rotate thing sometimes bounces up and zooms the sky and
once it zoomed in the soldier!
