How to get computers to land helis
« on: 24 Aug 2003, 15:58:25 »
For my cutscene I want a heli to land on a specific part of an island (infront of a house) and have the cargo get out and walk over to a guy.

I know the transport unload script works, but sometimes the heli lands way far away from the set destination to land, are there any scripts that will make the heli land on the EXACT position?

P.S. How to I get the camera to zoom in on someones face? Or just zoom in, in general?

Have you tried using a helipad or invisible helipad? I think that helicopters tend to favour those as landing areas if they're suitably placed. It's probably best trying it out though.

That's true  :D, they're drawn to helipads like flies. Once I had a helipad in the middle of three Mi-24's path's to a base. They raced to land on the pad even though I didn't give them orders to :-\, what's up with that?

Yes, they are supposed to favour Helipads but I also have a similar problem to Joe_Damned. I want a blackhawk to land on a helipad in a base (and I want three people to get out the chopper) yet it has a nasty habit of just thumping into the ground on the small hill leading down to the base and then rolling slowly downhill to bash into the fence. Fucking choppers  >:(.

Very eager pilots.  :P As for the camera scripting question check out snYpir's tutorial on it. Should come in very handy.  ;D
