A Fully Functioning RTO Soldier
« on: 05 Aug 2003, 17:38:31 »
It'd be great if somehow an RTO Soldier (like in the Seb NAM Pack) actually had support options when you were near him, rather than in your own radio. Perhaps to the similar fashion of the Radio guy in the Vietcong game.

So when you "call" him over (through the action menu?), you have available support options, such as Airstrike, Artillery ect..

Maybe anims could be used, so the player performs the phone pickup animation when near the RTO?

Hi I've done similar script as you descriped. It adds actions to that unit ho carry's the rdo. But no animations in this one.
So are you intrested? I can post It some time later, first I've to check that it actualy works.   ;)

Oh and some one should automaticly pick up the rdo if the rdo man dies.

There, this script adds actions to the unit who is carrying the rdo.

Hope it works, all I can say.  8)

Yeah, some people made soldiers with RTO's but they never seemed to do anything, although, BAS's RTO soldiers can make odd sounds if you press 'fire' repeadaly while equipped.

Remember: On object is oonly worth it's weight in gold.

I have no idea where that came from :P.

General Coder, the RTO works pretty well and its certainly open to further editing!

If somehow we could "call" the RTO over, that would be brilliant!

GrimMonkey, since the Blackhawk has been released, i think you can call in the MH D.A.P for air support? I've heard of it in one of the missions...

I don't know about the RTO, probably, but thanks to the brilliant minds at BAS, the squad leader of BAS chopper is able to perform quick night/day extractions, not to mention much more :)!

Hail to thee BAS! ;D

Just confirmed about the MH D.A.P, you can actually call in CAS in the Blackhawk mission, "Ranger Extraction".

Its pretty cool, looks like the script is implemented into the PBO file, but it works with other Choppers such as the Huey Gunship from SEB Nam Pack 2.0.

Its always nice to see Air Rocket Arty coming down on retreating Charlie :D

I only know basic scripting commands, nothing major. I guess BAS would be the best people to ask for scripting/editing an RTO - we can only hope!
