The ever-popular "Ammo Bug"
« on: 18 Aug 2003, 02:19:44 »
Usually when playing a multiplayer game, someone loads up a bunch of weapons, satchels, and ammo into a vehicle, no harm done, right?

WRONG!
ammo, weapons and more come spilling out of the vehicle like theres no tomorrow, thus creating tons of objects on the ground eventually leading to lag.
My question is, is there any way to detect these objects on the ground and delete them? ???

Well... for a start it's not a bug ::) ;D

BIS implemented a capacity limit with ammo crates in 1.75... that capacity being:
  • 1000 weapons
  • 2000 magazines
In any one crate.

So to stop it happening, you just have to stop stuffing your crates with so much hardware ;)

I quite like the ammo bug at the moment, I gunned down some guy in a CTI game, who was more intent on counting the neatly stacked weapons, than checking his rear :)

Well... im not sure what to call it, but havent you had it happen to you before?
i park my UAZ by a crate, load in a few 9K32 strela's, a couple hunting rifles and some G36's..
and poof! instantly a bunch of ammo and weapons are all over the ground, i know i couldnt possibly load in 2000 magazines so... probably some sort of dupe bug?

sure it may be usefull if you need a couple hundred extra laws... but the fact remains, ive tested and it causes desync ingame... anyone have any idea if its possible to delete em off the ground?

Someone in game, once suggested that it's caused by trying to insert an exisiting weapon, in exchange for one in a truck, thats already full?

i.e swaping your grenades and surplus magazines for an extra Law\rpg, when there is no room left in the vehicle
