.CPP For Tracked Vehicle

Hi,

Im in the process of making a few addons - all of which are tracked.

The model nearest completion is a fv107 Scimitar, I need help/basic tute if someone has time to aid me in getting together a .cpp file.

Ive looked at a few .cpp files and tried adapting them to my model but it just crashes ofp, can someone plz help me by maybe explaining a few basics like what to name the wheels, tracks, front and rear idler etc - also any tips on the naming the turret parts.

I apologise if there is a good tute out there for doing this but i havnt found one, if someone knows where plz let me know

ive got a thing which will allow you to build your tank via the cpp, and evlove around it
http://ofps.cncguild.net/configw/ Swift (ps. maybe you could put some screen shots in the addon ideas/modern british addons?) if this doesnt work personally send me the cpp file ill figure it out?

what else are you building.........because if you want i could do a tutorial which im already making???
this is all for the LOD 1.000
little advice find some demo vehicles, ie units made by BIS thats what i did........
but any way tracks............

L=left
P=right or pravy (chezch shit)

errr
cvt's have 7 wheels so the first being the wheel that drives the tracks is called
kolL1
the second third fouth fith and sixth are called:
koloL*         (*being the number)
the seventh being kolL2
(the wheels above is just for the left, remebering that L is left, so ou you have to repeat with the right by putting P in the position of L
ok turret
turret is called OtocVez
The barrell is called
otocHlaven
and the rotation of the commander is
otocvelitele (selecting the proxy commander)
oh and donot forget to add poklop_commander and poklop_gunner and poklop_driver, calling the hatches these names, because thats what they call em

fire geometry is all the parts named as components put as simple square forms (and not detailed parts as your scorpian

geometry is the same but at the mass window (if you havent got it open select all the points after building the primative structure and go to window and mass) it will pop up and youll enter in the mass of ure tank in your case i think its 8500 (i know that because ive got opgwc's scorpian up on my screen)

hitpoints is the same but naming the areas
ie engine
otoc hlaven etc

land contacts is where you should press insert where the tracks are hitting the ground (line them up nicely with the model)

memory ill explain another day when im awake
view cargo etc is selfexplanitry
 in the game well im off to do some more model making c ya

thnx Swift,

alot of info there m8,

I took the .cpp from an m109 model i found and tried to work out what did what, i figured out the wheel names etc but in the model i took the .cpp file from some of the wheels were doubled named and thet really confused me?

If you are willing and have time i would like toget more info from you.

I only decided to to apc/afc etc because my westland lynx didnt work out as i thought but at least that got in ofp without crashing it.

Im planning on modelling a Scimitar, scorpion, sultan, warrior, spartan, 432, but mainly for starters the scimitar and warrior ( i used to command/gun these in bosnia and would like to see them in game).

but just a quick one for you, you gave me alot of names for the memory LOD that should be in my model but, i have found a few moret het are in a demo model im trung to work off. Can you tell me what these are or what these do?
