M2 machine guns
« on: 02 Aug 2003, 12:02:25 »
Hi guys,

I'm trying to find a way of making AI .50 cal gunners turn their searchlights off. SetBehaviour "STEALTH" doesn't work, and SwitchLight actually crashes my OFP for some reason. Any one know the secret?

Cheers
Dark

You have to use an action command to make the gun turn its light off. However, the AI will turn the light back on right away; so the only way to keep the light off is with a constant loop of "turn off light" actions. Not sure what exactly the syntax would be for that though. Search the forums, because I know someone figured this out before and posted a script to solve it. It may even be in the editors depot.

No, I think that it didn't work :-\... The script used a looping function and the loop delay would have to be so small that if the script was used, the game would LAG like HELL... I THINK :-\

Hmmm...not much point in creating that much lag! Will have to think of some kind of alternative.

Seems weird though...every other vehicle with lights can turn them off by a simple SetBehaviour or action...oh well...

Thanks for your help, people.

Weird... oh well, I'll replace them with something else... maybe just more militia troops...

Thanks for your help.

Maybe you could put down a jeep w/machine gun? Maybe beat it up a little, shoot its tires out, so that it looks like some kind of wreckage that the militia is salvaging?
