Talking
« on: 02 Aug 2003, 05:05:01 »
Can anyone explain to me exactly how to make people talk. I tried reading the tutorial in the ed depot and an example mission but they are so confusing. If you can tell me how or where there is a better tutorial pls respond.

First off, you need Wav2Lip, second you need to know how to define your own sounds in description.ext, check out pcverden's Description.ext File Description or download Chris's OFP Script Editor witch has a .ext wizard. Then all u need is a wav file to convert to lip(MUST be wav), and after that just convert the wav to .Ogg with DBpoweramp(and download the ogg vorbis codec 4 it to) and stick it in your mission folder... easy huh?! ;D
If that didn't clarify tell me what's so frikkin confusing next time will ya mate! ;D

Well sometime ago, I had the same problem...
BUT... I found it somewhere (and god knows where  ???).

Anyway:

If you're using win xp (I think you do) put it in C:\wavtolip\

That worked with me ( I hope it's solved now.... )

If you check out the readme file for wav2lip, you'll see it specifies that the directory can't contain any spaces.

For instance, mine is in the :

G:\Opflashpoint\working\

Directory... and it works fine ;)

If my directory was called:

G:\Op flashpoint\working\

It would not (as there is a space). If all else fails, check the readme...

God, Wave2lip. I had alot of problems with this. In the end I just gave up and got something else. I cannot remember what it was called, but when I do I'll post a link for you  ;)
