attaching AA's to AH-64
« on: 17 Jul 2003, 19:51:38 »
how would you attach AA (from AA launcher) to the apache (AH-64) gunship??? I also need to know how to get the apache gunship to be able to lock onto both air and ground targets, and get them to home in on their targets.  What about the 9K32 Strella launcher, does thin home???

all I want to do is create another AH-64, exact same type (inherited classes) only with the alterations in the previous posting.

Hmm... Does anyone have a realistic apache w/ stingers. In real life I believe they have 2 stingers, one on each wing tip.

I've read that it's possible to mount mount either four FIM-92 Stingers (in two-tube wingtip boxes) or two AIM-9 Sidewinders on the wingtips.

Sidewinders won't work (unless you do some real clever scripting) cause they're proxies, and the crappy OFP engine doesn't allow for more than one proxy weapon on each model. So if you want two types of guided weapons (Hellfire and some other type), one will have to be tube-launched (i.e. non-proxy). So the Stingers would work, but the Sidewinders would not.

Forget it; you need some modelling skills to do that. As I said, the Stinger would have to be non-proxy, i.e. a tube-launched weapon. The tubes are part of the model though, so there's no way to attach them without changing the model.

ok, how about a copy of the AH-64 with the hellfires as weapons that are capable of launching air to air.  All I need to do is change the name from hellfire to stinger and possibly altercate the inflicted damage (know how to do this).  I think doing this will involve changine the hellfire to a weapon capable of both of air to air and air to ground, is this possible???  IF so how???
