Can anyone tell me how to make a plane take off in mission editor? Mine jus runs on the ground until it reaches it's waypoint. Also, in mission editor, how do you get a East soldier to be on the West side?

I can't help you with taking off, but Gunslinger's Editor Upgrade (Comes for 1.30/1.46 and 1.75/1.91) adds eastern and western spies, which look like enemy soldiers. That might work.

1: if the plane is ai controlled and is starts on a runway it should work fine

2: there is no way i know of to set east soldiers to act as if they are west

is about as close as you can get i think......but AI soldiers wont shoot thier own side

Only certain airfields - the ones with north-south runways - are "live".     Make sure the plane can run down the taxiway and take off up the runway and it will do it automatically.

To get an east loon on the west side, group him under a west group leader.    In the leader's init field write

deleteVehicle this

That should do the trick.

there is also a unit that is a spy for each side... just you can't select him via the normal means...

to make a east or west spy u need to hack the mission.sqm and change the vehicle name of a normal west soldier into the spyname - its all written in the com ref.
