Editing- Everything You Need

Here you all go.  This is a complete list of just about everything you need to get through your basic mission editing problems.  This comes straight from forum.ofp.info.  Thanks to Nano19, official moderator of the Mission Editing Forums at ofp.forums.info.  Here you go:

ANIMATIONS :

To add an animation like salute, place a waypoint for your guy and in the "On Activation" field of this waypoint, type this (You can place it in a script, that's better) :

UNIT_NAME PlayMove "ANIMATION_NAME"

or

UNIT_NAME SwitchMove "ANIMATION_NAME"

Replace UNIT_NAME by the name of the unit(s) you want to make the animation and replace ANIMATION_NAME by the name of the animation in the list below.

Don't forget to respect the specific signs like "

HOW TO PLACE BUILDINGS IN MISSIONS :

Example :

First, create a new mission, place your soldier and place a civilian (a man). Save this mission. Go in Windows (Pressing Alt + TAB) and go in this mission folder.

Replace "Civilian" by the name of a building in the list below. Save the modification and return in OFP. Load your mission, the civilian is now a building !!! You can add as many buildings as you want, it's simple !

HOW TO ADD OR REMOVE WEAPONS :

This is how to add weapons and magazines in an ammo crate. Type those commands in the INIT field of the ammo crates :

this addweaponcargo ["WEAPON_NAME",quantity]
To add weapons

To add magazines

You can add or remove them with those commands :
(Don't forget to remove his weapons or magazines before to add others !!!)

HOW TO INSERT SOUNDS IN MISSIONS :

First, your sounds must be in *.ogg format. Personnaly, I use DBpowerAmp Music Convertor. Place your musics in your mission folder but if you have a lot of scripts in this mission, make a new folder in named Music and another one for the sounds named Sounds. You must enter some parameters in the mission. The file which contains this is named description.ext. Make a new one with your notepad and save it as description.ext. In this file, you have to enter parameters like this :

Modify the MySound var as your sound name. You can just put one sound by deleting the others or add others.

Replace bird.ogg and wolves.ogg by your sounds names. Replace Animal by the name you want to give ti these sounds.

In this case, the music is in the music folder (Look at the sound[] line). Replace MyMusic by your music name.

If you want to add several musics or sounds, the first }; at the end is to close the first sound parameter in the class and the last one is to close all the class.
Example :

As you can see the CfgSounds class is just written one time for as many sounds we want to put, just make like this for all sounds or music but don't forget to change the class !

How to play the sounds or musics ? :
Use a script or make a trigger with parameters you want and in the "On Activation field, write this :

- For musics :
PlayMusic "MyMusic"
or
PlayMusic [MyMusic",15]
In the second example the music won't start at its beginning but at the 15th second of its total time. (sorry for my english there !)

- For sounds :
PlaySound "MySound"

- For radio messages :
UNIT_NAME GlobalRadio "MyMessage"
The unit will pronunce the message on the global channel. (White)

UNIT_NAME SideRadio "MyMessage"
The unit will pronunce the message on the side channel. (Blue)

UNIT_NAME  GroupRadio "MyMessage"
The unit will pronunce the message on the group channel. (Green)

UNIT_NAME VehicleRadio "MyMessage"
The unit will pronunce the message on the vehicle radio (Yellow)

- For a dialog (In the sound class) :
UNIT_NAME say "MyDialog"
Unit will speak. To have the lip movements, you must convert the sound in *.lip format. Use Wav To Lip program for this. You don't need to write the lip file in the description.ext but it must have the same name than its ogg file.

1) Put a new unit.
Side : EMPTY
class : OBJECTS
type : FLAG

2) In the init field of this flag, type this :

this setFlagTexture "\Flags\FlagName.jpg"

Replace FlagName by the name of one of the flags written after.

Example:
this setFlagTexture "\Flags\USA.jpg"
OR
this setFlagTexture "\Flags\France.jpg"
OR
this setFlagTexture "\Flags\Canada.jpg"

Those flags need flags.pbo which comes with version 1.30.
