Smurfs have infested my intro?
« on: 08 Jul 2003, 13:44:25 »
They are called smurf in norwegian. I don't know what they are called in english. They are blue and talk with a funny voice.
Anyway i have made an intro wich starts with an editor driven cutscene then changes to a scripted map anim with voices. The problem is the voice speed is wrong. If anybody remembers record players they had different speeds. Normal is 33, while ive got 50 in my voices. It works well as long as i start with the scripting, but when i use the editor driven part first i get soldiers with eeh. speech disabilities.

Has anybody got any tips?

Ps. The voices are kind of cute, however inapropriate in my mission :-\

system specs.
AMD 1.2-1.4 ghz
ram 512
asus a7v266 motherb. with integrated sound chip
gf3 ti 200 128mb ram

Why don't you do the whole intro with scripting, editor driven cutscenes... well ::), err, how should I put this?... SUCKS :beat: :P. Hope that came out clear enough ;D. You said it worked with scripted cutscene didn't you?! And it's so easy nowadays with the camera.sqs and all the tutorials in the editors depot, so what are you waiting for?... GO CHECK EM' OUT ;D

Hey, I'm no computer programmer either :P, but thanks to these exelent tutorials I was able to make advanced camerascripts in matter of hours. Just took a couple of thorough reads trough Snypir's Intro to Camera Scripting tutorial and I was of making as advance camerascripts as I wanted. Please read it trough it's not so complex as you think, and belive me when I say that I'm no computer programmer... I'm a real dumb-ass when it comes to scripting :beat:, or atleast I would be without guys like Snypir and other scripting GODS making those exelent toturials ;D. You can't expect to learn proper mission editing skills without taking a read trough the toturials in the Editors Depot. Also if you don't want to spend hours and hours making camera scripts take a look trough Camera.sqs tutorial by messiah, it's an easy to use camera scripting tool that is inbuilt in the game! :D
And if that's not enoug I took a search on the keyword "camera" for you in the ed depot. Look here  :o :D

For future refference i fixed the problem. I had the "player" in a plane flying around. But when i changed "player" to the talking unit, no more probs.  He He looks like i can but off learning more camera scripting for a while ;D
