STAY BOY!

I am currently making a special-op mission that incudes large amounts of soldiers just sitting around; so many infact that I ran out of avaliable groups(63) because to make them stay still and not go into formation I have to group them seperatly. How do I make them stay where they are but still have them grouped so I can finish the mission? ??? ?

try using either

unitname stop true
or
unitname disableai "move"

Listen up, m8 :thumbsup: artak is a VERY alcoholic person, and listening to him MIGHT result in unlawful acts, :noo: so I'd suggest you do the following instead :


Set the "SPECIAL" field to "None" when U create a soldier (do it all the morons).
And put this in the INIT field :

   DoStop This


That will make 'em hold, though they WILL return fire if attacked. And the "NONE" is what allows you to place them wherever U want on the map, unlike "this stop true" which would freeze the morons completely - a bit like when old Artak up there have had too much of that booze...  ::) ;D

@ artak - i think tomb said it - ppl stop movin n shptin  :-X

@ tomb - he got it right mostly ;D :thumbsup: - but it desnt work 4 group leader (now he did answer da Q but im expandin lil  :-X  :o)

u wil need em 2 react wen seeing enemies right ? - so try putin most of da unit dat r closed mor or les close 2geder ;D nd put detection triger around em more or less ;D -

put WP (move) on da leader (cuz da leader dont realy like 2 stop wen u use da do stop   :-X) nd sync (F5) it w/ da WP nd put andoer WP (make it guard) w/ engage @ wil open fire in it ;D - also put da next line in da leaders init

groupname = group this (group name can b watever u want)

now in da trigers activision put

"_X dofollow _X" foreach units groupname (group is wat u used b4)

now dey wil start runin around wen dey c enemies ;) ;D  8)

PERFECT! but one final thing...how do I stop them from spinning to face where the leader tells them too?
