Waypoint Issue
« on: 11 Jul 2003, 23:27:11 »
I have a problem with AI's following waypoints once in awhile (Like who doesn't). What I am trying to do, is make an aircraft fly over enemy (ontop), like a flyby. I have used in a move: "Do not fire, careless", but the aircraft goes around (far), and not over ontop. So, then I change to: Destroy, but removed all weapons. And in combat mode. I do have another move waypoint after this particular one.

Hmmmmm............ what sort of enemys are on the ground? Because if they're enemy armour this maybe resolved by using and empty tank and just getting it in the camera shot, because the computer doesent recognize it as a logical target or a threat if it isnt manned.

What is really funny that it is only about 5 east enemy soldiers around empty vehicles and the West Aircraft goes wide, when I want the aircraft to go right over them.

I am really getting fustrated. This waypoint thing is getting to me. All I do is trying make a aircraft to flyover enemy...I even put in line "this disableAI "Target"; this disableAI"Autotarget", and now I get the aircraft doing a circle..then heading to the waypoint. Sometimes it works, but then sometimes it messes up. I am always like now, not trusting what is to happen when it shouldn't do other things. This is for an intro. Cam work is all done and perfect. It is that AI heading to the waypoint, messing things up.

I dunno, maybe you could alter the custscene slightly to get the desired effect
