hanging people
« on: 05 Sep 2002, 00:51:30 »
Hi,

Is it possible to put a dead soldier in the air (3 meters above the ground) so it looks like they hang him in tree. I tried the setpos... etc But the soldier falls down from the sky
I want him to stay in the air. It works fine with an object but not with people. There are civilian dummies somewhere, but I only have a few sitting down; Are there others standing up?

Also I used a switchmove command (the one the guy is leaning over a table) cause when you use that and you kill him instantly from the beginning it looks cool. ;D
But then he's standing on the ground, and I want him hanged in a tree ;D

Blanco, glad the forum is back online.

using a looped script might solve yer problem ... just keep setting him at x meters above the ground continiously until you need him to fall.. I think I have a cargo rope addon around here somewhere that you could use as a rope.. LOL ;D

No no no. No scripts. To make a soldier hang on the tree you need to set his anim to "FXParaDead" and hagn him using setpos command

Oooh, I like the way you are thinking. That would make a great camera shot.

Cheers, KTottE

Yeah.. if you setpos a unit it will fall as soon as it gets to that pos...
so if you used a looped scroll won't this get around that problem?? thats what I suggested earlier ;)

yeah - that would work... as long as u make the script fast enuff....

there may be a bit of vibration - as in the guy goes up and down so fast he looks slightly blurred at close distances....

give it a go.
