rotating from the front view
« on: 22 Jun 2003, 05:41:22 »
hello all

i'm trying to make a set of fold up cultivators to tow behind a tractor and i cant work out how to get them to fold up. instead of folding up they up from a front perspective they rotate around my axis from a top persepective.

i'm on msn... nicknewman@hotmail.com

[edit: sorry if that didnt make much sense ill rephrase it. i have a set of fold up cultivators, instead of folding up they swing around to the left and right.]

is that any better?

Seems you've got your rotation points in the wrong place, they should be at 90o to the rotation, imangine them being a bar to which the arms are atatched and rotate on.
Have a look at Colonel Klink's tutorials (http://www.dc3d.co.nz/Tutorials/index.htm) if my ramblings don't make any sense, they helped me with rotations, I'd recomend the the undercarridge one for what you are trying to acheive.
