Road Trains - Yeeeeaaaah!!!!!
« on: 12 Jun 2003, 03:11:38 »

 :D You heard me - roadtrains!  :o 8) ;D

With the amazing magic scrolls seen in the "pak 36" cannon, I was just wondering:

When will we see the first truck with a trailer attached to it  ??? :)

I wanna make smuggler missions & road block - ammo theft missions.... and SOON!!!!!!!!  8)

*and ma kiddo wanna drive a REAL truck!*

Yeah there is, came with the Pak 36, works rather well too until you try to reverse and it rotates 180o so that it's facing the direction of travel, kinda like a supper market trolley wheel, if a way can be found to stop that then it'd be great to have some 18 wheelers.

Yeah!

This is a great idea Tomby!

And it could work very well with our mod..  I'll see what the other members of the EC think...

Where can I get this pak 36 cannon?  (haven't seen it at ofp.info or the official forums!)   :o

I take it you'll be doing a British one, in which case will you be doing the Scammell Commander or the older Thornycroft Antar? Although the army are supposed to be buying the American Oshkosh transporter.

ill build the commander if i have blueprints or side and front pics? But i think that the majority of the armour being moved around the uk is done by eddie stobart or a civillian carrier (i think dats right). Any way enough about that i would also think it would be cool to have a BMW police escort bike? wat u recon

I'm not too sure about Eddie Stobart shifting tanks around for the Army, firstly because I've only ever seen military tank transporters on the move, and secondly because 50-odd tons of tank is a bit much for even the biggest civvie lorry.

Anyway, since it's on topic in here, will someone make an Eddie Stobart truck? No reason, just for the kicks of using it to ram Trabants off road on Nogova  ;D

Hmmm the pak works how its supposed to.Have you ever backed up a trailer? Just the fact that the Pak has some geometry porblems and allows you to jackknike completely.Normally it would hit your vehicle and cause damage. I prolly should have fixed the geometry but wasnt my model

Cool I didn't realise it was a geo problem, I know trailers never want to go in a straight line, I thought the script was very accurate apart from the jacknifing problem.

you didnt ask me, but i say its texture that u use, use photoshop and you could make black texture, set opacity to like 10 and it will look like toned windows

 ??? what the...  ??? ( ;D )

sorry mate, I think I lost that line of yers... try again!  (*tank trailer?!*)

I hope we talk about the same idea: a civilian (maybe also army-) truck with a trailer.  :)
wassup with this "tank" stuff?!  do ya mean a gastank trailer, like in that "Convoy" movie?!  ??? :D

I'd prefer a container type of trailer (maybe with working doors)

:D aah yea, the flat trailer there! yeah, thats a great idea, m8  :)

Then we can script real cargo crates upon the trailer - exellent idea!!!!!!

[extended]:

Actually, I'm pretty dang keen on this idea!  :D 8) To imagine a scripted-glued trailer with a scripted-glued crate upon it!  ;D 8) thats stunning stuff, man!!!!!

:-X I just hope it won't blow my top now!

See, with modelling - I'm as green as Tiger frikkin Woods' balls man, and a scripted (glued) trailer is ONE thing - the other is actually managing to glue a fully functional tank/crate to the (already glued) trailer  :o :noo:  ;D

Guess we'll have to make a few dummy tanks/crates, a bit like BAS did w/ the MH47-E cargo.

Not an easy project - though easier now that we don't have to do any pioneering stuff (except from perhaps putting together  :o several object and glue them to a moving vehicle).

Interesting, and very much worth working on!  :D :)

could become quite a hit, this one.

if u do give me a PM (private message)
if u can get the struts at the back of the trailer to work, it will be the best addon ever!!!!  ;D
