drivers, commanders, gunners ETC of vehicles
« on: 02 Jun 2003, 19:09:18 »
I was wondering if there was a way to specfiy a particular unit inside a vehicle who ISNT the gunner, driver, commander, pilot, etc.
Just "Cargo"...?  ???
I mean for the purposes of focusing the camera druing a cutscene or for an enemy unit to target, or watever...?

Does anyone understand what I mean?!!
I guess it might help if the unit was named and watever, but whether or not, is it possible?
Are there arny scripts or example mission out that implement it?

Cheers all,
Dan  ;D

@Captain
I mean....
If for example you wanted to focus the camera in a cutscene on a particular unit in a vehicle - you could easily focus on the driver, the gunner, etc - as they are all designated position in the vehicle...

However - what if you wanted a unit in Cargo?
Are they designated cargo numbers (eg. M113a passenger #3) or something.
Get me? :)

@LCD cheers bud

switchcamera allows you to do that, certainly, though I have a feeling it allows only one in-cargo camera postition.    Anyway, as LCD said, read the tute.  ;)   By experimenting with making sure the loons get into the vehicle in the right order and using gamelogics to fill any awkward empty spaces, you may be able to get the effect you want.
Plenty of reviewed ArmA missions for you to play

you want your cam to point on a unit inside the vehicle? so why not naming the unit and use _cam camsettarget unitname?

Don't forget:
Code: [Select]
_cargo = crew _vehicle - [driver _vehicle] - [gunner _vehicle] - [commander _vehicle]You may still have a long list of cargo objects.
