blind ai
« on: 02 Sep 2002, 17:12:50 »
i recently started on a black ops mission that is at night, and you have to clear a town of enemies. i was playing it, and i was in the town. a soldier was no more than 40m away from me, staring straight at me and didnt shoot. do the ai still see the same during the night, either in a town or not? do the lights from the town not affect their vision at all?

The darker it is the more blind the AI get (though it is obviously only represented mathmatically).  Also some units are more sneaky and hard to see than others.  Black Ops are the sneakiest, while playing a mission I managed to sneak my blackops up to the front of a patrolling tank and plant a bomb at it.  They are super sneaky!

Hmmm if you want them to shoot you at a far distance, give them night vision goggles.

yeah NV ai's are unstoppable when they go up against non-NV ai.  the NV guys will open up at least 100 yards, and the non-nv guys wont even shoot back till their lik 50 yards away, which means they get decimated hehehe.

Blackops and spetznaz are both blakops units.  They are just called different things in the game and use different models.  Same as the Shilka and the Vulcan lol.

Since we're talking about lights in the night and stuff.....how do you switch Off, vehicles light controlled by an AI........and also the streetlamps.....but the vehicle lights are more of a priority now.
